puristetut
Puristetut is the Finnish plural past participle form of the verb puristaa, meaning "pressed", "squeezed" or "compressed". As an adjective, it agrees in number and case with a plural noun (for example puristetut appelsiinit — "the squeezed oranges"). The singular counterpart is puristettu; other related participial forms include the present participle puristava and the infinitive puristaa.
Morphologically, puristetut is formed from the verb stem purista- with the past participle suffix -ttu and the
- Puristetut vaatteet ripustettiin kuivumaan. (The squeezed clothes were hung to dry.)
- Keittiössä oli puristetut sitruunat ja mehu. (There were squeezed lemons and juice in the kitchen.)
Nominally, puristetut can function as a noun phrase meaning "the squeezed ones" but this usage is uncommon.
