pupusz
Pupusz, also known as pupusas, are a traditional Salvadoran dish. They are a type of thick corn tortilla filled with various ingredients. The dough is typically made from masa harina, a corn flour, mixed with water and sometimes a little salt. The filling is then placed in the center of the flattened dough, which is folded over and sealed before being pressed into a flat disc.
Common fillings for pupusas include cheese, refried beans, cooked pork (chicharrón), or a combination of these.
Pupusas are usually served hot and are traditionally accompanied by curtido, a lightly fermented cabbage slaw
