Puolustusalueet, translated as defense areas, are regional units within the Finnish Defence Forces used to organize territorial defense and civil protection at a local level. In peacetime, Puolustusalueet are responsible for aligning reserve training, developing local defense plans, and maintaining readiness of units and infrastructure within their area.
