Puolijohdeosat, or semiconductor devices, are electronic components that exploit the unique electrical properties of semiconductor materials. These materials, such as silicon and germanium, have conductivity between that of a conductor and an insulator. This intermediate conductivity can be precisely controlled by introducing impurities, a process known as doping.
