pumpfähig
pumpfähig (German) describes a material or substance that can be transferred by a pump without significant risk of clogging, energy loss or damage to the pump. The term is widely used in hydraulics, water supply, wastewater treatment and industrial process engineering. A pumpfähiges fluid typically has a viscosity and particle size that allow smooth flow through the pump’s inlet geometry and internal clearances, and it does not erode or corrode the pump components.
In municipal water systems the term indicates that potable water meets pressure‑transmission requirements; pumpfähiges Wasser cannot
In the medical field, pumpfähiges Liberum refers to intravenous solutions, blood products or oxygenated gas mixtures
Industrial applications involve the handling of fuels, oils, coolants and, increasingly, granular or powdered materials. Powdered
