Prøvekort is a type of prefabricated concrete slab commonly used in construction for paving roads, streets, and highways. The term "prøvekort" is specifically Danish, referring to the fact that these slabs are manufactured in a controlled factory environment before being transported to and installed at the actual construction site.

Prøvekort slabs consist of a cement paste or concrete mixture which is poured into a mold, giving the desired shape and size. As the mixture hardens, the slab is removed from the mold, typically featuring a square or rectangular shape, and a smooth surface texture.

These prefabricated concrete slabs offer several advantages, including reduced construction time, improved durability, and lower labor costs compared to traditional on-site concrete paving methods. The use of prøvekort can also result in faster project completion, enhanced driveway surfaces, and notable sound reduction due to the dense material.

Prøvekort has not gained traction globally to the same extent as other types of prefabricated concrete, such as interlocking concrete pavers or cast-in-place concrete. Nonetheless, their popularity persists within the Scandinavian region, where infrastructure requirements continue to demand efficient and practical construction methods.

Danish construction experts initially developed prøvekort as an alternative to site-casting individual slabs of concrete, focusing on enhancing production efficiency alongside logistical feasibility for deployment in busy regions like Copenhagen. Its distinct manufacturing process and transporting features reserve these benefits.
