Progresij is a term used in several languages to denote progression, sequence, or development. It stems from the Latin progressus and is cognate with the English term progression; in some languages it is spelled progresij or progresija.

In mathematics, progresij refers to a sequence of numbers that follows a specific rule. The two main types are arithmetic progression, where successive terms differ by a constant d (for example, 2, 5, 8, 11 with d=3), and geometric progression, where successive terms multiply by a constant ratio r (for example, 3, 6, 12, 24 with r=2). More generally, any ordered list of terms that follows a rule can be described as a progresij.

In music theory, progresij, or chord progression, describes the sequence of chords that underpins a piece's harmony. Common progressions include I–IV–V–I in major keys or ii–V–I in jazz, guiding tension and release over time.

In other fields, progresij may refer to narrative progression (the unfolding of events in a story), developmental progression in biology (progression of a trait or disease), or data progression in research.
