Processedalso is a term used in data processing and information retrieval to describe a two-layer processing workflow in which the primary data transformation is complemented by an auxiliary pass that attaches additional annotations, alternatives, or metadata to the same output. The term is informal and does not refer to a single standardized algorithm; rather, it describes a pattern found in various engineering teams and research prototypes.

Mechanism: In a processedalso pipeline, input data undergoes a standard transformation (normalization, structuring, feature extraction). Subsequently, a parallel or sequential "also" pass generates auxiliary annotations such as synonyms, aliases, confidence scores, related entities, or alternative interpretations, and attaches them to the primary result without replacing it. The augmentation can be stored in a metadata layer, a side table, or embedded in a multi-valued field, enabling downstream components to utilize either the core result or the enriched context.

Applications: It is used in search and indexing to improve recall with alias expansion; in natural language processing to attach multiple interpretations; in data integration to surface linkage candidates; and in knowledge graphs to attach related entities.
