privalum
Privalum is a linguistic term used in Latvian-language grammar to refer to the base stem of the noun privalums, which means advantage or benefit. In standard usage, privalums is the nominative singular form; privalum is primarily encountered as the stem in inflected forms and in morphological descriptions. Because Latvian relies on inflection, the stem prival- appears in forms such as privaluma (genitive) and privalumi (plural), among others.
Semantically, privalums denotes an advantage, benefit, or favorable aspect that improves a situation, outcome, or argument.
Relation to other terms includes synonyms and closely related concepts such as labums (benefit) and priekšrocība
