Pranverë is the Albanian word for the season of spring, the period that follows winter. The definite form pranverës is used when referring to “the spring” as a season in Albanian grammar. The word is derived from para verës, literally “before summer.”

In Albania and other Albanian-speaking regions, pranverë brings milder weather, longer days, and the start of plant growth, with blossoms and green shoots appearing across the countryside. In common usage, pranverës generally corresponds to the March–May months in the Northern Hemisphere.
