Pranverë

Pranverë is the Albanian term for spring, the season of renewal that follows winter and precedes summer. In Albanian, the word combines pra- “before” and verë “summer,” reflecting the sense of a period that comes before the warmth of summer. The period is commonly aligned with March through May in the Northern Hemisphere, with the vernal equinox typically around March 20–21, though calendar dates vary by climate and locality.

During pranverë, temperatures rise, days lengthen, and plant life resumes growth. In Albania and neighboring regions, this season is associated with the blossoming of orchards and fields, and with agricultural activities such as sowing and pruning.
