Portabor is a Latin verb form meaning “I shall be carried.” It is the first-person singular future passive indicative of porto, portare, “to carry.” The form belongs to the first conjugation; in Latin the future passive endings for this conjugation include -bor, -beris, -bitur, -bimur, -bimini, -buntur, giving portabor as the standard form for “I will be carried.”

As a grammatical form, portabor does not function as a standalone dictionary entry in the way a root verb does; rather, it appears in texts as the passive future of porto. Its literal translation is “I shall be carried,” and it is often used with an agent expressed by the ablative with a preposition such as a/ab, e.g., “portabor ab amicis” (I shall be carried by friends). The active counterpart is portabo (“I shall carry”).
