Polyisopreeniä is the Finnish term for polyisoprene, a polymer with the chemical formula (C5H8)n. It is a naturally occurring organic compound and the primary component of natural rubber. The structure of polyisoprene consists of repeating isoprene units. In natural rubber, this polymer is primarily in the cis-1,4 configuration, which gives it its characteristic elasticity. Synthetic polyisoprene can be produced with varying stereochemistry, including cis-1,4, trans-1,4, and 1,2 configurations, each yielding materials with different properties.

Natural rubber, harvested from the latex of the rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensis), is the most common form of polyisoprene. Synthetic polyisoprene is manufactured through polymerization of isoprene monomers.
