poco

Poco is a term used in several unrelated contexts. In Italian and Spanish, poco means “a little” or “not much.” In music notation, poco is used to modify the degree of a passage, as in poco allegro (slightly faster) or poco a poco (little by little).

The best-known use as a proper noun is Poco, an American country rock band formed in 1968 in Los Angeles by Richie Furay, with Rusty Young and Jim Messina among the early members. The group helped shape the country rock sound of the late 1960s and 1970s, blending folk-rock with harmonies and guitar-driven arrangements. Their self-titled debut album Poco appeared in 1969, launching a long-running career of influential records.

POCO is also a brand name for a line of smartphones and consumer electronics created by the Chinese company Xiaomi. It began as Pocophone, launching the Pocophone F1 in 2018, and later rebranded as POCO to operate as a standalone brand within the Xiaomi ecosystem. POCO devices are marketed toward value-conscious buyers, offering competitive specifications at accessible prices.
