p-Methylbenzylamine, also known as 4-methylbenzylamine or p-toluidine methanamine, is an organic compound with the chemical formula CH3C6H4CH2NH2. It is a primary amine derived from toluene. The molecule consists of a benzene ring substituted with a methyl group at the para position and a methylamino group attached to the ring via a methylene bridge. It is a colorless to pale yellow liquid at room temperature with a characteristic amine odor.
This compound is soluble in many organic solvents and moderately soluble in water. p-Methylbenzylamine is used
