phytoreoviruses

Phytoreoviruses are a genus of plant viruses belonging to the family Reoviridae. They are characterized by their double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) genomes, which are segmented into multiple pieces. These viruses are transmitted by insects, primarily leafhoppers, and infect a wide range of plant species, causing significant agricultural damage.

The genome of phytoreoviruses consists of 10 to 12 segments of dsRNA, each encoding one or more viral proteins.
