Permeancia is a term used in physics and engineering, particularly in the study of magnetic circuits and electrical resistance. In the context of magnetic circuits, permeancia, also known as magnetic conductance, is the reciprocal of magnetic reluctance. It quantifies how easily a magnetic flux can be established through a given material or space. A material with high permeancia allows magnetic flux to pass through it with little opposition. It is analogous to electrical conductance in electrical circuits, which measures how easily electric current flows through a conductor.

The permeancia (P) of a magnetic circuit element is generally calculated as the permeability of the material (μ) multiplied by the cross-sectional area (A) through which the flux passes, divided by the length (l) of that path. The formula is P = μA/l. Permeability (μ) itself is a material property that indicates how well the material supports the formation of a magnetic field within itself. For vacuum, this is the permeability of free space (μ₀). For other materials, it is μ = μᵣμ₀, where μᵣ is the relative permeability.

In some contexts, permeancia can also refer to the ability of a substance to permeate or pass through another. For example, in materials science, permeancia might describe the rate at which a gas or liquid can diffuse through a solid membrane. This usage is less common than its application in magnetism but shares the underlying concept of ease of passage.
