Permeázok are a class of membrane transport proteins. They are responsible for moving ions or molecules across biological membranes. Permeases are found in the cell membranes of all living organisms, from bacteria to humans. Permeases function by binding to a specific solute on one side of the membrane and then undergoing a conformational change that translocates the solute to the other side.
