Pendeltåg, or commuter rail, is a rail-based public transport system that serves Stockholm County and some neighboring areas. It operates within the Storstockholms Lokaltrafik (SL) framework and provides rapid connections between central Stockholm and outer suburbs. In practice, Pendeltåg trains complement the Stockholm metro and regional bus services, sharing tickets and coordinating timetables.

The network consists of several lines radiating from Stockholm Central Station to suburban municipalities. Core routes run north to Märsta, southwest to Södertälje, and southeast to Nynäshamn. The service is designed to provide high-frequency, urban-rail style travel with short journey times into the city center.

Rolling stock consists of electric multiple units in the X60 family, introduced in the 2000s, with newer variations X60A/B. Trains run on 15 kV AC electrified overhead lines and operate on standard gauge tracks. The network uses modern signaling and features accessible stations.

Operations are conducted under contract to SL; the rolling stock is operated by SJ AB on most lines, while maintenance is performed by both SJ and SL contractors. Tickets are integrated with SL's fare system; passengers use SL Access cards or single-use tickets valid across buses, trams, the metro, and pendeltåg within SL zones.
