Pelitalouteen is a constructed language (conlang) developed for linguistic experimentation and worldbuilding. Created in the late 2000s by linguist Mara Pelitalou, the language is named by combining the creator’s surname with the -een suffix commonly used in conlangs to denote a language.

Classification and phonology: Pelitalouteen is an agglutinative, largely isolating language with a subject–object–verb order. It features a modest phoneme inventory: 18 consonants and five vowels, with vowel harmony affecting suffix vowels. Stress is generally on the penultimate syllable.

Morphology and syntax: Nouns take extensive case-marking via suffixes, including nominative, accusative, genitive, and dative. Articles are optional, and gender is not grammaticalized. Verbs inflect for tense, aspect, and mood through affixation and, in some verb classes, auxiliary particles. Adjectives follow nouns and agree in case with the noun they modify.

Writing and sample: Pelitalouteen uses a Latin-based alphabet with diacritics to mark phonemic vowels and stress, enabling a compact orthography. A short sentence in Pelitalouteen might be transliterated as: "Pelitalouteen naru vilas bon." (This demonstrates SOV order in simple clauses.)

Usage and status: The language has a small but active online community, with a grammar, a learner dictionary, and several short fiction texts. It serves as a case study in agglutinative morphology and conlang ecosystems.
