Paryti is a small rural settlement situated in the eastern province of Saguay within the country of Gandaf. The village lies approximately 8 kilometres south of the district capital, Keren, at an altitude of about 1,200 metres above sea level. Paryti occupies an area of roughly 12 square kilometres, largely characterised by terraced fields that cultivate barley, wheat and various root vegetables.

The earliest recorded mention of Paryti appears in a 14th‑century chronicle that describes the village as a minor trade post on the route linking the inland highlands with the coastal trading ports of the Gulf of Yel. Despite its modest size, Paryti has historically been a meeting point for transhumant pastoral communities, who bring their herds of sheep and goats during the summer months. In the 18th and 19th centuries, the village experienced a modest influx of craftsmen, particularly woodworkers and carpet weavers, contributing to the local economy.

According to the 2011 national census, Paryti has an estimated population of 1,297 residents, with a nearly even gender distribution. The majority of inhabitants belong to the Saguayan ethnic group, and the primary language spoken is Saguayan, though many residents also understand the official language, Gandaf. The community is predominantly engaged in agriculture, animal husbandry, and cottage‑industry production.

Cultural life in Paryti centres on traditional festivals such as the annual Harvest Jamboree, which celebrates the season’s yields and features folk music, dance, and communal feasting. A modest shrine dedicated to the patron deity of the valley, Paryti‑K'ali, serves as a focal point for religious observances.

Paryti is accessible by a single state‑maintained road that connects Keren to the village and continues eastward to the Peri market. Public transport is limited, and most residents rely on private vehicles or motorbikes for mobility. The village hosts a primary educational institution, a health out‑patient clinic, and a community house that doubles as an administrative office.
