Parduotuvės (singular parduotuvė) are retail outlets where consumers purchase goods or services. The term covers a wide range of formats, from small neighbourhood shops to large supermarkets, department stores, and specialty outlets. In addition to physical locations, the concept includes online shops, though in Lithuanian the common label for online retailers is usually elektroninės arba internetinės parduotuvės. Retail formats are designed to meet different needs, such as convenience stores for quick, everyday purchases, supermarkets and hypermarkets for broad assortments, discount stores for low prices, and specialist stores focusing on a single category like fashion or electronics.

The retail sector plays a central role in economies by providing consumer access to goods, creating employment, contributing to tax revenue, and shaping urban and commercial development. Competition among retailers influences prices, product variety, service quality, and supply chain efficiency. Modern retail increasingly blends physical and digital channels through omnichannel strategies, enabling click-and-collect, home delivery, and unified loyalty programs.
