Parapszichológia is the study of alleged psychic phenomena and other paranormal claims, such as telepathy, precognition, clairvoyance, psychokinesis, and mediumship. It is considered a pseudoscience by the mainstream scientific community. Parapsychology attempts to investigate these phenomena using empirical methods and scientific rigor, though its findings are often met with skepticism. The field emerged in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, drawing from earlier spiritualist and occult traditions.

Key areas of research in parapsychology include extrasensory perception (ESP), which encompasses telepathy (mind-to-mind communication), clairvoyance (perceiving distant objects or events), and precognition (knowing future events). Another significant area is psychokinesis (PK), also known as telekinesis, the purported ability to influence physical objects with the mind. Mediumship, the claimed ability to communicate with the deceased, is also a subject of study.

Despite decades of research, parapsychology has not produced conclusive evidence that satisfies the standards of scientific validation. Critics point to methodological flaws in many studies, the lack of replicability of results, and the potential for experimenter bias or fraud. The scientific consensus remains that paranormal phenomena, as investigated by parapsychology, lack a sound theoretical basis and empirical support within the established laws of physics and biology.
