Panoramasammansättning refers to the technique of creating a wide, often continuous image by combining multiple individual photographs. This process is typically achieved by taking a series of overlapping shots and then digitally stitching them together to form a single, seamless panorama. The goal is to capture a field of view that is much wider than what a single photograph can encompass, offering a more expansive perspective of a scene.

The creation of panoramas involves careful planning and execution. Photographers must ensure consistent exposure and white balance across all shots to avoid noticeable differences in the final image. Overlap between adjacent images is crucial, usually ranging from 20% to 50%, to provide enough common visual information for the stitching software to accurately align the photos. The direction of shooting, whether horizontal or vertical, and the focal length used will also influence the final panorama's appearance and distortion.

Modern digital cameras and smartphones often have built-in panorama modes that automate much of the shooting and stitching process. However, for more control and higher quality results, photographers may use specialized software applications. These programs analyze the overlapping areas, identify corresponding points, and warp and blend the images to create a unified panorama.
