panentheïsme
Panentheism is a theological concept that describes the relationship between God and the universe. It posits that the universe is part of God, but that God is also greater than the universe. This means that everything in existence is within God, yet God's being transcends the totality of all creation. It is distinct from pantheism, which identifies God with the universe. In panentheism, the world is seen as an expression of God's being, and God is intimately involved with the world, sustaining and animating it, while simultaneously existing beyond it. This view often emphasizes the immanence of God, highlighting God's presence within creation, but also maintains God's transcendence, acknowledging a divine reality that is not exhausted by the physical universe. Many different religious and philosophical traditions have elements that can be interpreted as panentheistic, although it is not always explicitly labeled as such. It seeks to bridge the perceived gap between a personal, active God and a vast, complex universe.
