Paloletkut is a Finnish term referring to fire hoses. These are flexible tubes used to convey water or other extinguishing agents from a water source to a fire, typically from a fire hydrant or a fire engine. They are a critical component of firefighting equipment and come in various lengths and diameters to suit different applications. The material of the hose is usually a synthetic fabric, often coated with rubber or polyurethane, to make it water-tight and resistant to abrasion and heat.

Fire hoses are generally classified by their diameter and pressure rating. Smaller hoses are used for initial attack and for reaching smaller fires, while larger hoses are used for supplying water to fire engines or for delivering large volumes of water to significant fires.
