Pakpeniski is a traditional West Sumatran dance originating from Indonesia. It is one of the several traditional dances of Sumatra Island, all of which have been recognized by UNESCO as Masterpieces of the Intangible Heritage of Humanity.

The dance, performed by both men and women, typically takes place during festivities and celebrations. It is characterized by the performers wearing traditional clothing adorned with intricate patterns and ornaments, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the region. The dancers move to the rhythm of percussion and flute music, which is also a fundamental element of Pakpeniski.

Pakpeniski is often performed to the accompaniment of the Tabuik day, a significant event in the Minangkabau calendar. The participants dance through the streets, wielding ritualistic weapons, which are typically ornate sticks. At times, capers and juggling also form part of the performance.
