Paketihinda is a fictional language and cultural system created for worldbuilding and comparative linguistics. In the imagined setting, it is spoken by the Paketi people of the Hinda Islands, a coastal chain in the southern sea of the continent of Alamari.

The name paketihinda is a compound formed from Paketi roots—paketi meaning water and hinda meaning song—reflecting the community’s tradition of water-based chants.

Geographically, the Hinda Islands lie off the eastern shore of Alamari's southern archipelago. In the constructed history, about 12,000 speakers remain, concentrated on three main islets and several fishing villages. The language coexists with neighboring languages through trade and intermarriage.

Paketihinda is an analytic, SVO language with evidential markers and rich demonstratives. Nouns are unmarked for gender; plurals are indicated by a plural suffix. Verbs mark tense and aspect with a system of prefixes and suffixes; evidentials encode speaker certainty. The phoneme inventory includes about 20 consonants and 5 vowels, with a frequent use of glottal stops and a small set of loan sounds from neighboring languages.

Historically, paketihinda emerges in coastal villages and trading camps, absorbing lexical elements from neighboring tongues. A standard form was developed during a cultural renaissance in the 18th century under the patronage of the Tide Council, though regional varieties persist.
