pHtaset

pHtaset is a structured dataset of pH measurements designed for developing and evaluating methods for measuring, predicting, and interpreting acidity or basicity in chemical, environmental, and educational contexts. It aggregates records from laboratory experiments, field observations, and classroom demonstrations to provide a common benchmark for data-driven approaches to pH analysis.

Each entry in pHtaset typically includes fields such as sample_id, pH_value, temperature_C, measurement_method, device_model, calibration_status, matrix, location, collection_date, and operator notes. Additional fields may capture ion strength, salinity, or buffer information. The dataset may contain both direct pH readings and derived or corrected values, depending on the source.

The dataset is used to benchmark pH meters and calibration procedures, to train machine learning models that estimate pH from proxy measurements, and to support teaching and reproducible research.

Data collection and quality control: Data are typically compiled from controlled experiments and field records.
