Oxigénfelvételének refers to the process by which an organism takes in oxygen. This is a fundamental physiological process for aerobic life, as oxygen is essential for cellular respiration, the metabolic pathway that generates energy in the form of ATP. The specific mechanisms and structures involved in oxygen uptake vary significantly across different species and environments.

In aquatic organisms, such as fish, oxygen is absorbed from the water through specialized respiratory organs called gills. Water flows over the gill filaments, which have a large surface area and a thin membrane, allowing for efficient diffusion of dissolved oxygen into the bloodstream. Marine mammals and some amphibians also possess lungs for breathing air, but they may have adaptations for underwater respiration.

Terrestrial animals, including insects, reptiles, birds, and mammals, typically utilize lungs to acquire oxygen from the atmosphere. Air is drawn into the lungs, where it comes into contact with a vast network of tiny air sacs called alveoli. The thin walls of the alveoli facilitate the exchange of gases, with oxygen diffusing into the capillaries and carbon dioxide diffusing out.

Plants also take in oxygen, primarily for respiration, although they produce oxygen during photosynthesis. Oxygen enters plant tissues through small pores called stomata, which are usually found on the surface of leaves. Fungi and bacteria, which are also aerobic organisms, absorb oxygen directly from their surroundings through their cell membranes. The efficiency of oxygen uptake is often influenced by factors such as temperature, pressure, and the concentration of oxygen in the environment.
