Ovomorphs are a fictional biological entity featured in the Alien film franchise. They represent the egg stage of the Xenomorph life cycle. Visually, ovomorphs are large, leathery, and often described as having a distinctive, somewhat phallic shape. Their exterior is typically a greenish-brown color and appears to be somewhat translucent, allowing for glimpses of the contents within.

Inside the ovomorph is a parasitic larva known as a facehugger. The ovomorph is designed to remain dormant until a suitable host approaches. When triggered, the ovomorph opens by unfurling its petal-like structures, revealing the facehugger. The facehugger then rapidly detaches and attaches itself to the host's face, typically injecting an embryo into the host's respiratory system. The ovomorph itself is then discarded. The ovomorph's primary function is the safe transport and delivery of the facehugger, ensuring the continuation of the Xenomorph species. They are usually found in clusters within nesting environments, often in dark and humid locations.
