This genus is primarily found in the Mediterranean region, particularly in parts of southern Europe and northern Africa, though its exact distribution remains understudied.

The shells of *Ostukulus* species are typically small, ranging from 5 to 15 millimeters in diameter, and exhibit a conical or slightly depressed shape.
