ospalos
Ospalos is a genus of extinct marine reptiles belonging to the order Ichthyosauria. These creatures lived during the Early Triassic period, approximately 250 to 247 million years ago. Fossil discoveries indicate that ospalos was among the earliest known ichthyosaurs, representing a crucial stage in the evolution of this group of marine predators. Its fossil remains have been found primarily in Europe, particularly in localities that were once part of the Tethys Sea.
The anatomy of ospalos suggests a relatively small, slender body compared to later, more derived ichthyosaurs.
