Osimlik (Uzbek: o'simlik) refers to plants, the multicellular, predominantly photosynthetic organisms that form the kingdom Plantae. In everyday usage, osimlik covers land plants from mosses to flowering trees; some classifications distinguish algae, which are aquatic and not always considered true plants.

Most osimlik are autotrophs, using sunlight to synthesize organic material through photosynthesis. They typically have cell walls made of cellulose and store carbohydrates as starch. They are mostly immobile, though some possess structures allowing limited movement, such as wind-dispersed seeds.

Plants are organized into organs: roots, stems, and leaves, which are supported by tissue systems like xylem and phloem in vascular plants. Their life cycles often feature an alternation of generations, with a sporophyte diploid phase and a gametophyte haploid phase.

Major groups include non-vascular plants (mosses, liverworts, hornworts), seedless vascular plants (ferns, lycophytes), and seed plants (gymnosperms and angiosperms). Angiosperms, or flowering plants, produce seeds enclosed in fruits and dominate most terrestrial ecosystems.

Plants play a central ecological role by producing oxygen, forming the base of food webs, stabilizing soils, and shaping habitats. Humans rely on osimlik for food (grains, fruits, vegetables), materials (wood, fibers), medicines, and cultural value.

Global biodiversity of plants comprises an estimated several hundred thousand described species, with ongoing taxonomy and conservation efforts to document and protect them amid habitat loss and climate change.
