Optikája is the possessive form of the Hungarian noun optika, commonly used to refer to the optics of a particular object or system. In English-language discussions, optikája may be translated as “the optics of” or “the optical system of.” The field optika (optics) is the branch of physics that studies light: its generation, propagation, interaction with matter, and detection.

Optics covers theoretical frameworks such as geometrical optics, which treats light as rays and is used in lens design and imaging, and physical or wave optics, which accounts for diffraction, interference, and polarization. Quantum optics examines light at the level of photons. In practical engineering, optical systems include devices like lenses, mirrors, filters, waveguides, and detectors.
