Odczasownikowy is a term used in Polish linguistics to describe words or forms that originate from a verb. The word itself is built from od- (indicating origin) and czasownikowy (verbal), and it functions as an adjective naming the source of a derivational process. In English-language descriptions it is often rendered as “deverbal.”

In practice, odczasownikowy can refer to several categories of word formation that start with a verb. The most common are deverbal nouns, created by nominalizing verbs (for example, czytanie from czytać, pisanie from pisać). The term also covers deverbal adjectives and participles when they derive from verbs but take on adjectival or participial functions, such as pisany (written) or czytany (read) in contexts where they modify nouns or form predicates.
