octowy

Octowy is a Polish adjective and, less commonly, a noun form that is scarcely attested in standard contemporary usage. It may appear in texts that borrow directly from Latin or English technical vocabulary, or in older writings where Latin-based word formation was more common. In modern Polish, the more established terms are ósemkowy, relating to the base-eight system or octal concepts, and oktawowy, relating to an octave in music or to eightfold divisions. Because octowy is not widely recognized, it is generally avoided in formal writing in favor of these standard equivalents.

Etymology and usage patterns are indicative of its rarity. The form is often treated as a nonstandard

Practical guidance suggests using the conventional Polish terms: ósemkowy for eight-based concepts and oktawowy for octave-related
