nënçifrash

Nënçifrash is a village in the Brus neighborhood of Prizren Municipality, Kosovo. The village is located near the border with Albania, in the Drin region.

Historically, the area where Nënçifrash is situated has been inhabited by various ethnic groups, including the Cham Albanian tribe. However, today, the village is predominantly inhabited by ethnic Albanians.

Nënçifrash has been affected by various conflicts in the region. During the Kosovo War in the late 1990s, the village saw clashes between Yugoslav forces and the Kosovo Liberation Army. Additionally, in 2013, tensions flared between Albanian and Serbian citizens in the region, resulting in riots and border disputes.

Economically, the village is characterized by a mix of small-scale agricultural activities and livestock farming. The surrounding area is also rich in mineral resources, including gypsum and oil shale. However, the development of these resources has been hindered by the region's complex history and ongoing tensions between Kosovo and Serbia.
