Nurgalöögipiirkonnad, often translated as "corner kick areas" or "penalty boxes," are specifically marked zones on a football (soccer) pitch. There are two such areas, one at each end of the field, directly in front of the goals. These areas are rectangular and are defined by lines painted on the grass. The purpose of the nurgalöögipiirkonnad is to regulate certain aspects of the game, most notably penalties and goal kicks.
