Nowdecommissioned is a term used in asset management to denote the final status of an asset that has completed decommissioning and has been removed from active use. It is a portmanteau formed from now and decommissioned, but in practice is typically written as now-decommissioned or as the two-word phrase now decommissioned. The term appears in internal documentation, registry systems, and informal discourse.

In scope, it applies to physical assets (ships, reactors, power plants, equipment) and digital assets (servers, software licenses) that have undergone decommissioning, disposal, or retirement. It signals that no further maintenance, operation, or data processing is intended.

Distinctions: It is distinct from “decommissioned” in that it emphasizes the current completion as of a timestamp; it is also different from “in the process of decommissioning.” In record-keeping, tagging entries as nowdecommissioned can trigger retention schedules and disposal workflows.

Examples: The old turbine was nowdecommissioned in 2023 after the phase-out of the facility. The asset registry marks the server as nowdecommissioned following data migration and wipe.
