normalná

Normalná is the non-diacritic rendering of the Slovak adjective normálna, the feminine singular form of normálny meaning "normal" or "standard." In standard Slovak orthography, the correct spelling is normálna. The form normalná may appear in ASCII-only texts or in contexts where diacritics are not used, but it is generally considered a misspelling in formal writing.

Usage of normálna is to describe feminine nouns in the nominative singular. For example, normálna teplota means a normal temperature. It agrees with the gender and number of the noun it modifies: masculine nouns take normálny, neuter nouns take normálne, and feminine nouns take normálna in the singular. In plural and other cases, different endings apply according to Slovak grammar, but the underlying meaning remains “normal” or “standard.”
