Noncolor is a term used to describe colors that lack hue, commonly referred to as neutral or achromatic colors. In practice, noncolor encompasses black, white, and shades of gray. Objects or images described as noncolor are perceived without a distinct tint, even though they may vary in lightness.

From a physics and perception perspective, noncolor refers to light or surface reflectance that does not evoke a specific wavelength-based hue.
