Non-Bosnians refers to individuals who are not ethnically Bosniak. Bosniaks are a South Slavic ethnic group primarily from Bosnia and Herzegovina. While Bosniaks form the largest ethnic group in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the country is also home to other significant ethnic groups, most notably Serbs and Croats. Therefore, Serbs and Croats residing in Bosnia and Herzegovina would be considered non-Bosniaks.

The term can also extend beyond the borders of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Individuals of Bosniak ethnicity who have emigrated or are citizens of other countries are still considered Bosniak. Conversely, individuals who are not of Bosniak origin but live in Bosnia and Herzegovina are non-Bosniaks in relation to the ethnic group.

The concept of ethnic identity is complex and can be influenced by national, cultural, and linguistic factors. In the context of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the post-Yugoslav wars and the Dayton Agreement have solidified ethnic distinctions among Bosniaks, Serbs, and Croats, though interethnic relations and individual identities can vary. Therefore, non-Bosnians are simply those who do not identify with the Bosniak ethnic group, encompassing a wide range of other nationalities and ethnicities both within and outside of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
