For example, in the Finnish sentence "Hän on opettaja" (He is a teacher), "opettaja" (teacher) is the nominativikomplementti. It follows the linking verb "on" and renames the subject "hän" (he). Similarly, in "Hänestä tuli lääkäri" (He became a doctor), "lääkäri" (doctor) is the nominativikomplementti, indicating the state he transitioned into after the linking verb "tuli". This grammatical construction is crucial for understanding how subjects are described or identified within a sentence.
