Nodulukse is a traditional ritual of the fictional Nodul people of the southern archipelago of Valara, observed mainly during the late rainy season. It functions as a community-wide rite of passage that marks the transition from adolescence to adulthood and serves to reinforce social bonds through shared performance, craftsmanship, and feasting.

The name is believed to derive from the Nodul language, combining elements meaning light and path, though exact etymology varies among speakers and scholars, with some arguing it reflects a narrative of guidance from elders.

The ceremony centers on a dusk procession in which youths, accompanied by masked elders, carry carved wooden figures and beadwork spirals. Participants sing a polyphonic chorus using a pentatonic scale unique to the region, and pairs of lanterns or luminescent shells are released on the river to symbolize the passing of knowledge from one generation to the next. At the end, the newly admitted adults participate in a communal feast featuring seafood, root crops, and handmade breads. A key feature is the apprenticeship segment, where younger participants are paired with master craftsmen for a year after the festival to learn rites, crafts, and local governance.

Written records are sparse, but ethnographer accounts from the early 20th century describe nodulukse as already established in multiple island communities with regional variation. Today, preservation initiatives document and standardize core elements while allowing local adaptation.
