Nimetissõrme, also known as the ring finger, is the fourth digit on the human hand, located between the middle finger and the little finger. It is named "nimetissõrme" in Estonian, translating to "ring finger," reflecting its common use for wearing rings, particularly wedding and engagement rings.

The ring finger is typically the second longest finger on the hand, although its length relative to the index finger can vary among individuals. Anatomically, it is supported by the fourth metacarpal bone and is comprised of three phalanges: the proximal, middle, and distal phalanx. It is controlled by a complex network of tendons and muscles originating in the forearm and hand.

The ring finger's mobility is slightly less than that of the index or middle finger due to its tendons being partially shared with the adjacent middle finger. This interdependence means that isolated movement of the ring finger can be more challenging than for other digits. Historically and culturally, the ring finger has held significant symbolic meaning.
