nimalarni

Nimalarni is an Uzbek grammatical form derived from the interrogative pronoun nima (what). It functions as the accusative plural form, used to refer to multiple items as the direct object. In English it generally corresponds to “the things” or “which things,” depending on context.

Morphology and formation: The base nima means “what.” To refer to things in the plural, it becomes nimalar (things). The direct object marker -ni is then added to form nimalarni, signaling that the noun phrase acts as the object of a verb. Uzbek allows this form in various syntactic positions within a sentence, and it remains faithful to the surrounding word order and case system.

Usage and examples: Nimalarni is used when asking about or referencing multiple items. Examples include: Nimalarni sotib oldingiz? (What items did you buy?) Nimalarni ko'rsatishingiz mumkinmi? (Which things can you show?) U nimalarni tanlaganini aytadi. (He says which things he chose.) The form contrasts with nimala (singular object) and nimalar (subject or general plural), which do not carry the accusative marker.
