Nieproporcjonalny is a Polish adjective meaning not proportional. It is used to describe relationships or quantities that do not bear a constant ratio to one another. In everyday language, the term can refer to situations where two things do not grow or shrink in the same fixed proportion.

In mathematics, direct proportionality describes a relationship of the form y = kx, where k is a constant. If no such constant exists, the relationship is nieproporcjonalny. This covers nonlinear dependencies (for example y = x^2) as well as linear relationships with a nonzero intercept (for example y = 2x + 1). In both cases the ratio y/x is not constant across the domain.

The term is also used in statistics, physics and data analysis to indicate nonlinearity or non-constant scaling between quantities. In everyday language it can express that proportions are off or that one quantity does not increase or decrease in step with another, such as costs not growing in proportion to production.
