niehomologiczno
Niehomologiczno is a Polish term encountered chiefly in specialized scientific texts. It denotes non-homology, that is, a lack of homologous relation between structures, sequences, or traits. In practice, the word is used to indicate that a feature does not originate from a common evolutionary ancestor or does not correspond in a straightforward, homologous manner to another feature. The form is much less common than its standard counterparts niehomologiczny (an adjective) and niehomologicznie (an adverb), which are normally preferred in ordinary prose.
