Netzwerkbildend is a German adjective describing substances, materials or processes that form a network, typically a connected, three-dimensional framework. The term combines Netzwerk (network) and bildend (forming) and is used across disciplines to denote the capacity to create a network rather than to remain as discrete units.

In chemistry and materials science, netzwerkbildende Verbindungen form extended networks through covalent or strong secondary interactions. Inorganic glass formers such as silicon dioxide (SiO2) and aluminosilicates generate silica-based or ceramic networks; organic systems such as thermosetting polymers and crosslinked resins (epoxies, phenolics) develop three-dimensional networks through crosslinking. In the social sciences and management, netzwerkbildend can describe actors or institutions that actively create, expand or reinforce social or economic networks, enhancing connectivity, information flow and collaboration. The term emphasizes the creation and maintenance of a connected structure rather than a mere collection of independent elements.
